Lucas Films

I recently saw two podcast concerning Disney’s Lucas Film business.

The first concerned the disappointed Star Wars films and series over the past decade. It is not me saying this but a great number of hard core fans. I subscribed to the Disney Plus channel in May 2021 the first time promoted by the desire to watch Star Wars.

I agree with these fans that the later films were substandard. I though the two series of The Mandalorian were great. I was very disappointed by the Book of Boba Feta, an uncomprehension mishmash story. Why Mando and Grogu had to be included was beyond me.

This first podcast accused Lucas Films on abandoning creativity in favour of politically story lines. It went onto to say it continued to refuse to the fans as it it turned out failure after failure. The result has been a seriously tarnished brand.

The second podcast suggested that Lucas Films will be put for sale because Disney needs the money. Who the purchaser would be was unclear. It did suggest that George Lucas would be reclaiming his creation.

If it sold then that leaves the big question. The first is where will bit be host online because it must have a streaming presents. Will Disney set up a separate paid sub-channel? If it leaves then who would take it. Lucas Films is too small to go streaming al
