Streaming Channels

I have flitted between Amazon, Netflix and Disney Plus a year at the time over the years. I can’t say that I preferred one over the others. Contents rather than price has been the deciding factor. For example I put in Disney Plus after I left hospital in Summer 2021 so I could watch the Stars Wars films and series.

Currently I have Curiosity Stream, a documentary channel, on subscription. I don’t think that I will renew it come October because there so little new material coming that I want to watch. It is unlikely that I will replace it with anything else because I prefer video gaming.

One problem that I face in Ireland is the copy right laws. I wanted to subscribe to the MGM Channel on Amazon Prime UK to watch the Stargate series but couldn’t because of where I live. Very annoying and non-sensible in my opinion but understandable.

Given Disney’s current financial problems they might have been better having their streaming content on a channel on Netflix or Amazon instead of going it alone. I really thought they could be successfully financially by going it alone. I have been shown to be so wrong.

I won’t subscribe to an advert supported channel even if it were cheaper. I remember what TV was like in the 1990s and 2000s before I ditched it. I don’t want to return to that.
