The Economist

I am a big fan of this publication and have been a subscriber for over thirty years. I fortunately switched from receiving a print copy to reading it on line just before Covid struck in 2020.

I can understand why a great many people dislike the publication. Its style is one of liberal democracy and free market globalism. Neither of these is in favour with a large number of people across the world, even in the West.

I am not here nor would I try to convince people what the Economist preaches is a good idea. Simply it is not my place to do so. I believe people must make up their own minds on what they think is best for the world. Still not listening the the other side is a bad idea. I watch a number of for me far right populists on YouTube.

I have to admit that it has greatly influenced my political stance and how I view the world. There is invertible.

One of my favorite section is the Obituary at the very end. When they started it their point was that the dead should have the last word. Sounds corny and maybe it is but I think that it should be true..
